Park Neuk

Location Page

Park Neuk is located about 9 miles, (15 km) south of Edinburgh, close to the attractive former mining village of Rosewell in Midlothian.

You can drive to the centre of Edinburgh in about 30 minutes. Rosslyn Chapel is 3 miles away, (5 km), or about an hour's walk through the delightful Roslin Glen.

The cottage stands on its own in beautiful countryside, 1/4 mile (400m) from its nearest neighbour, yet within 10 minutes walk of a general store, a take-away restaurant, a pub, a golf-course and a bus stop. It is just 3 miles (5 km) from the Eskbank railway station, a 24/7 supermarket and several other good take-away restaurants. It provides an ideal combination of convenience and privacy.

Public Transport: Park Neuk Cottage is fully accessible by public transport - there is no need to bring a car unless you want to. And even if you have your car with you, you may prefer to avoid driving and parking in Edinburgh. The bus stop at the end of the lane has a service, (Lothian Bus 49) to and from the centre of Edinburgh, which runs every 30 minutes throughout the day, (less frequent in the evening). Single fares are £1.60 for adults and the journey takes about 60 minutes depending on traffic.

The same bus will take you to the Eskbank Railway Station - get off at the Tesco car park and go over the railway footbridge. The bus takes about 15 minutes from Rosewell, the trains run every 30 minutes and take about 20 minutes to Edinburgh Waverley. Alternatively, Park-and-Ride facilities are provided at Straiton and Sherrifhall, both about 10-15 minutes drive away, with frequent bus services to the city centre.
