  • Our tenth Festival, but our first away from the centre. Park Neuk proved the perfect place to reflect on all those attractions in the calm of the landscape. The bus from the end of the lane dropped us right outside the Queens Hall, but driving to the Usher Hall in the evening, we couldn't believe how easy and straightforward our journeys were. It made the concerts and opera this year special - framed as they were by such easy transport links.
Reflecting on the Festival, we forgot to write about the many joys of Park Neuk. Where else can one find a secret garden, or such a marvellous library of books - a real glimpse of heaven!
    (John and Caryl; Canterbury)

  • The cottage was really fun! We loved seeing the ponies go by every morning. We loved going to the park that we could walk to.
It was cool watching the birds eat. I loved looking at the bunnies.
There was a lot of TV channels which was cool!
The view was fantastic, we all loved the cottage. It was fantastic!!
Great location to all sights - we went to Stirling, Largs, (Glasgow area) and Edinburgh of course too. We entertained my UK cousins at the cottage and all commented on the "magical" garden. The cottage felt truly a home and we felt a great sense of comfort as we drove down the long laneway after a long day of touring. We look ofrward to our next visit. Many thanks!
(Jack (11), Olivia (9), Hannah (7), & Lynne; Toronto, Canada.)

  • We have spent a very enjoyable week introducing 3 of our grandchildren to Scotland. We have never stayed in such a well-equipped cottage, it is very comfortable and the children loved the garden where they could play safely.
(Peter & Enid; Huddersfield, Lilika, Nathaniel, Florence; Leics.)

  • The garden was great for playing "hide-and-seek". Loved watching the horses come past the house. Yellowcraigs Beach is great for sandcastles, rock-pools and bird-watching. The garden was a delight.
(Julian, Shelley, Charlotte & Olivia; Leics.)

  • It was great; my favourite thing was the garden and my bed and watching the birds and a squirrel and the pheasant as well.
    (Alexander aged 9, Strathcarron)

  • Thank you for such a lovely interesting week. So much close-up wild-life, from the rabbits in the field to the thieving squirrel to the ghost in the pantry.
The Library was spectacular, ensuring that nobody was bored when bike-rides were called off for rain. The time that we did spend cycling was marvellous, especially along the old train track routes.
The open fire provided hours of entertainment if small amount of success as the strange idea of matches did not occur to my dad for 5 days.
The fully equipped kitchen proved a huge success, encouraging everyone to cook with gadgets that are actually useable instead of strange useless contraptions that so often appeal to mum at home.
All in all, Park Neuk provided everything you could wish for and more. We certainly hope to return.
(Kate aged 12, with Isabelle, Alexandra, Denise and David, London)

  • Thank you very much for a wonderful week. The cottage is fantastic, it feels as though it's your home. The boys have been lost in the library enjoying all the books. The cottage is the perfect base for exploring the many attractions around Edinburgh and beyond. We will definitely be back.
(Peter, Michelle, Alexander & Stephen, Strathcarron)

  • Without reservation we can say that our stay at Park Neuk has been just wonderful. The cottage's situation is both picturesque and peaceful. The furnishings and fittings are exceptional and more than we expected. The living room is well equipped and most importantly, comfortable and cozy.
(Joan & Carl, Julie & family, Australia)

  • I liked your cottage. I like the electric blankets and the Wendy House and the bathroom and the birds eating.
    (Harry, age 7)

  • A lovely relaxing time in a superbly fitted-out cottage. Thank you - we will be back.
    (Caron, Joanna & Jack, Dundee)

  • This enchanted cottage has been a welcome haven from the busy world with all its cares.
    (Dave & June, Northampton)

    (Sarah, 10, France)

  • Great stay - one of those places that 'exceeds expectations'. We have felt very much at home. Wonderful garden and the perfect location.
(Walter, Helen, Annabel & Juliana, Minneapolis, USA)

  • Thank you for the warm welcome which was appreciated after the long drive. Really enjoyed the garden and bird watching - look out for the Great Spotted Woodpecker which visits the nuts.
    (Annette & Said; Hull)

  • An idyllic place to stay. It is a wonderful house, so far out into nature, yet so close to all the basic amenities.
    (Pravin; Sussex)

  • We had a wonderful time at Park Neuk, the house and garden are so lovely. This is a "petit paradis".
    (Agnés & Nicolas; Paris)

  • We enjoyed Edinburgh, Peebles and Rosslyn Chapel, but most of all eating at the table and watching the pheasants and rabbits strolling up the garden path and across the lawn, and we enjoyed curling up by the fire in the evening.
    (Lynne & Tim; Derbyshire)

  • What a tranquil oasis, a perfect holiday hideaway. The children especially enjoyed watching the birds at the feeders during their own meals.
    (Paul and Iris; Sunderland)

  • Beautiful cottage - totally tranquil, yet so easy to get into Edinburgh. No shortage of things to read, either. We can recommend the gardens of Castle Drummond near Gleneagles and the impossibly romantic Castle Campbell, in Dollar - a tough haul up through the woods but worth it.
(Simon & Sheila, Essex; Nancy & Margaret; Victoria BC, Canada)

  • Your thoughtfulness in kitting out the cottage is appreciated, especially the toys for the children. As for the location, we were pleased to be able to pack in so many day-trips: Glasgow, Edinburgh, Stirling, Loch Lomond, North Berwick, Dunfermline, and Kirkcaldy.
(Tandy, Nikos, Agne, Angelos, & Alexander; Greece)

  • Lovely tranquil location, very well kitted out. The library actually got the boys reading! Great base for touring to Stirling, Bannockburn, Wallace Monument, Edinburgh Castle, (the boys liked the Camera Obscura), and we liked the Scotch Whisky shop and tour. Loved the open fire in the evening.
(Dave, Angela, Vincent & James; Manchester)

  • The cottage is cosy and well-equipped and convenient for all amenities. Park & Ride was excellent and good value, (£10 return for 5 of us). Two sightings of the Woodpecker and a cheeky stoat dancing on the lawn.
(Julie, Michael, Daniel, Fran & Ol; Lancs.)

  • Such a lovely location. Dining Room window great to watch the coming and goings of the birds. This added to the relaxation the cottage provides.
(Sheila, Mike, Steve and Evi, Hampshire)

  • Jack, (21 months), had the time of his little life - train set, pots and pans, tea parties in the garden house. Thank you for all the little touches that made it a most memorable stay.
(Ged, Sue, Mark, Adele & Jack; Co. Durham)

  • This was our second stay at Park Neuk and it was every bit as enjoyable as the first. The cottage is great for anyone with kids, and our 3-year-old was in awe of the great video collection. A real home from home! No doubt we will return!
(Cate, Steve, Rhiannon & Amyn, NJ, USA)

  • Lovely safe garden for the children and Molly was excited to sleep in a library.
(Paula, Jon, Molly (5) & Ossie (2); Exeter, Devon)

  • Stayed with 4 children: 12 months, 2, 9 and 11 years old. All had a fantastic time and thought the house and its contents "brill". Great location, great scenery, city life on the doorstep - what more could you wish for?
    (Liz, Connor, Megan; Dumfries)

  • The cottage is superb and can't be faulted if you want to visit a fantastic city but would also like peace and comfort.
    (Jeanette & Andrew; Zoopigi, Cyprus)

  • The garden and its inhabitants were a special treat.
    (Margaret, Rolf, Geraldine; Hannover, Germany)

  • A perfect place for gathering and eating - we have entertained our extensive family here. Our "kids" were able to hop on the bus to Edinburgh and do their own thing. Access to good fishing spots a plus!
(Clare, Pat, Graham, Ann & Colin; USA)

  • If only all holiday accommodation were this perfect! We didn't manage to read all of the 3592 books, (yes, we counted them!)
(Paul, Angela, Marie & Clare; Plymouth, Devon)

  • A wonderful haven from the rat race but still close enough to the conveniences of modern life.
    (Linda; Higham Ferrers)

  • We had a great time here for our first visit to Scotland - Park Neuk was a truly wonderful experience.
(Porky, Sylvia, Angela & Keith; Mozambique)
