Park Neuk is excellently located for easy access to many popular activities.

Links are provided where relevant for the various services and facilities. These will take you away from this site to the related information.

  • Walking and Cycling
Two public rights of way intersect at the house. To north and south, the ancient drove road from the Borders to Edinburgh runs right past the cottage. It is a recognised footpath and bridle path. To the south, it is an unmade road which is possible to drive along but this is not recommended except for vehicles with good ground clearance. Running east and west is an agricultural track which allows access to the nearby golf course and to the village of Rosewell. Rosewell has a convenient general store and a pub.

The Dalkieth to Penicuik walk-way and cycle-way, (part of the UK national cycle network) runs along a former railway line just 1/4 mile to the north. This provides easy access to shops and many interesting attractions.

  • Golf
The nearest golf course is just a few minutes walk away in the Whitehill House Golf course. The cottage is located just below the top right hand corner of the photograph below. Click for more details about this course.

Of course, Scotland is famous for its golf courses and within a twenty mile radius you can find over 75 courses including such famous names as: Braid Hills, Gullane, Muirfield, Prestonfield and Dalmahoy.

  • Fishing
Park Neuk is less than 20 miles from the famous Tweed.

There are also numerous river and loch fishing possibilities much closer, including a small loch with managed fishing at the far end of Rosewell. More information can be found by clicking here

  • Skiing
Hillend, the UK's biggest artificial ski slope is only seven miles away.

  • Horse Riding and Pony Trekking
A number of nearby stables offer horse riding and pony trekking. We have had good reports about the stables linked to the images below.

  • Vogrie Country Park
Vogrie is just 7 miles away and offers a number of outdoor activities for both children and adults including an adventure play area, a miniature railway and golf.
